Beijing, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : The Chinese men’s and women’s relay teams triumphed in the 100-meter events at the Asian Games held in Beijing on September 28. Their performances on the track were marked by exceptional teamwork and skill.
In the men’s 4×100 meter relay final, the Chinese team secured the gold medal with a time of 38.17 seconds, finishing ahead of the silver medalists from Chinese Taipei by 0.15 seconds. South Korea claimed third place.
Among the Chinese men’s team, only experienced sprinter Xie Chanye had previously competed at the Asian Games. The other three members were making their debut. After the race, anchor leg runner Xie expressed gratitude for his teammates’ contributions. “My teammates gave me a significant lead. I enjoyed the race immensely. A relay is not just an individual’s battle; it is a collective effort. The strength of each team member combined results in more than the sum of our parts. I am confident that future Chinese athletes will continue to shine,” he said.
In the women’s 4×100 meter relay final, the Chinese team finished with a time of 42.96 seconds, earning them the gold medal. The teams from Thailand and Japan followed closely, taking silver and bronze, respectively.
Seventeen-year-old Chan Shuchye, a member of the women’s team, shared her experience. “In our three years of collaboration, everyone worked tirelessly for our team’s pride and the gold medal. This unity helped me feel less pressure throughout the process. I completed the race with a steady mindset,” she stated.
