Rahul Gandhis Students Echo Criticized by BJP as Moneys Echo, Congress Leader Zaheer Lalani Responds

New Delhi, August 23: Congress leader Zaheer Lalani criticized the ABVP and BJP regarding Rahul Gandhi’s event ‘Students’ Echo’ held in Pune. He stated that there is an attempt to tarnish the image of a program aimed at raising the voices of students and youth. He also condemned the central government for not granting political approval for the proposed U.S. visit of Telangana’s Chief Minister.

Lalani remarked that the ABVP labeled the ‘Students’ Echo’ event as ‘Money’s Echo,’ which he deemed completely false. He asserted that students and the younger generation have seen the true face of the BJP and ABVP. He accused the BJP of working against student interests and evading crucial questions related to students.

He claimed that when students were peacefully protesting, actions were taken against them. Lalani emphasized that the BJP has consistently attempted to defame Congress, but this strategy is damaging its own image. He stated that suppressing the voices of youth and students is against democratic values and will impact future politics.

Lalani also addressed the issue of the central government denying political approval for the Telangana Chief Minister’s proposed U.S. trip. He described it as unfortunate that the Ministry of External Affairs did not approve the Chief Minister’s foreign visit. He mentioned that the Chief Minister had recently visited the UK and toured Oxford University, where former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi also studied, calling it a matter of pride for the country.

According to Lalani, the Telangana government aims to create new opportunities for students and youth by enhancing collaboration with leading educational institutions and organizations worldwide. He accused the BJP of viewing such initiatives through a political lens. He expressed disappointment over the central government’s attitude towards various student-related issues.

He argued that the government is not showing sensitivity towards student movements and educational matters. If the central government cannot assist in Telangana’s development, it should at least refrain from obstructing development efforts. The central government’s approach to issues related to education, youth, and state development appears politically motivated, whereas these matters should be considered above politics.
