New Delhi, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : In New Delhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced on Sunday that opposition parties, along with youth, civil society members, and supporters of democracy, will march to the Supreme Court on October 12. This demonstration aims to submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice, calling for an end to alleged vote theft, a halt to the Special Intensive Review (SIR), and the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Gandhi took to social media platform X to accuse police and BJP supporters of assaulting peaceful protestors in Delhi on Sunday. He emphasized that the youth participating in the protests were driven by love, not hatred or anger.
“This is not the India we want,” he stated.
He urged everyone to join the march, highlighting the need for unity beyond party lines, gender, caste, community, and state boundaries. Gandhi noted that the youth of the country, various opposition parties, civil society, and all who believe in democracy will participate in this march. He affirmed that those standing with the Constitution would be part of this initiative.
In his post, he named Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, accusing them of trying to silence India’s voice. He declared that the opposition would not be intimidated and that the government must back down.
Gandhi emphasized that participants would march together in a spirit of love, brotherhood, and patriotism. He also rallied the crowd with the slogan “Don’t be afraid,” asserting that all of India will march to the Supreme Court on Monday.
Through this march, the opposition aims to raise concerns regarding voter registration issues and the electoral process. A key agenda item is the submission of a memorandum to the Chief Justice.
