Chennai, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Chennai on October 11, where he offered prayers at the Jalakanteshwar Temple located within the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras campus. Accompanying him were Tamil Nadu’s Governor Rajendra Arlekar and Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.

Following the temple visit, Modi toured the Brain Research Center at IIT Madras, reviewing ongoing scientific research activities. His trip included a focus on education, culture, and development initiatives.

During the visit, Modi inaugurated the ‘IITM Maestro Ilaiyaraaja Center for Music Learning and Research,’ aimed at promoting music education and associated research.

The main event at IIT Madras also featured the inauguration of various development projects in Tamil Nadu, along with the foundation-laying of new schemes. A speech by the Prime Minister was scheduled following the inaugurations.

This visit marks Modi’s first trip to Tamil Nadu since the Vijay government took office. Upon his arrival at the airport at 10:58 AM, he was welcomed by Governor Arlekar and Chief Minister Vijay, along with state ministers and other officials, including AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K.
