R.P. Singh Accuses Arvind Kejriwal of Distracting from Ministerial Corruption

New Delhi, May 9: BJP leader R.P. Singh made significant remarks on Thursday regarding various political issues, spanning Punjab to West Bengal. He dismissed the allegations made by Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), against the central government and investigative agencies as completely baseless.

Singh targeted Kejriwal, claiming that he is consistently questioning the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to divert attention from corruption allegations against his ministers. He pointed out that a minister from the Punjab government has recently been jailed for corruption, yet Kejriwal remains silent on the matter. Singh recounted an incident where a minister allegedly pressured an official to award a tender to a specific individual. When the official refused, he was assaulted and later committed suicide, leaving behind a detailed account of the corruption. The implicated minister is currently in jail.

He alleged that the AAP government is deeply entrenched in corruption. Singh stated that the ED acts only after gathering substantial evidence. He recounted a recent ED raid where an individual linked to the party reportedly threw a suitcase filled with cash from his home. He noted that every time the ED takes action, AAP leaders create a ruckus.

Regarding the political developments related to TVK and the role of the governor, Singh emphasized that having the necessary numbers is crucial for forming a government. He clarified that if the majority is not achieved, the governor will not grant any concessions, as it could lead to a constitutional crisis. He described this as being in accordance with the law, asserting that adequate support is essential for government formation.

Commenting on Suvendu Adhikari becoming the new Chief Minister of West Bengal, Singh stated that the era of fear and corruption that has plagued the state for the past 15 years is coming to an end. He claimed that while crimes against women had increased previously, a transformation is now underway in the state. Singh expressed confidence that Bengal’s cultural heritage would be revived, propelling the state towards development.
