Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate Bengaluru Metro Pink Line on November 13
PM Modi will inaugurate the 7.5 km elevated section of the Bengaluru Metro Pink Line on November 13, enhancing city transport.

Bengaluru, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : The highly anticipated inauguration of the 7.5-kilometer elevated section of the Bengaluru Metro Pink Line is set for November 13, as confirmed by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya. This project has been in the pipeline for six months, facing delays due to the necessary government approvals for train operations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to officially launch the service on that date. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) plans to operate six trains initially on this route, which has received safety clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), indicating it is ready for operation. BMRCL and the state government are expected to release the official timetable and inauguration details soon.
The Pink Line connects Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara, stretching a total of 21.26 kilometers, with 13.76 kilometers underground. The elevated segment between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere has been completed and recently received safety approval.
In the first phase, metro services will run between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere, encompassing six stations: Kalena Agrahara, Hulimavu, IIMB, JP Nagar Phase 4, Jayadeva Hospital, and Tavarekere. The Jayadeva Hospital station will serve as a crucial interchange between the Yellow and Pink Lines.
The new route is expected to significantly ease travel for commuters in areas around Bannerghatta Road, IIMB, JP Nagar, and Jayadeva Hospital, which often experience heavy traffic congestion, especially during peak hours. Long traffic jams, particularly during the rainy season, are common in these regions. The introduction of metro services is anticipated to relieve some of this congestion, offering residents a new travel option.
Previously, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that PM Modi would inaugurate the metro route on November 15. However, the date has now been moved up to November 13 for the launch of the Pink Line services.
