Russian Airstrike in Zaporizhzhia Claims 18 Lives at Humanitarian Center
A Russian airstrike on a humanitarian center in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, has resulted in 18 fatalities and multiple injuries.

Zaporizhzhia, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported a devastating airstrike by Russia on a humanitarian aid center in the village of Komyshuvakha, located in Zaporizhzhia. The attack targeted a school where assistance was being distributed. As a result, 18 individuals have lost their lives, and five others are injured.
In a post on the social media platform X, Zelensky detailed the assault, stating that multiple airstrikes struck the village throughout the morning. He emphasized that bombs were dropped on a facility designated for humanitarian aid.
Following the initial bombing, Russia launched a second attack, releasing nine additional bombs aimed specifically at a shelter where people were gathered. “It is tragic that 18 people have died,” Zelensky expressed, extending his condolences to the victims’ families. Rescue operations are ongoing, with efforts to locate those trapped in the debris. The situation remains dire, with military and emergency services working tirelessly.
Zelensky asserted that it is impossible for Russia to be unaware that the residents of Komyshuvakha receive humanitarian aid weekly. He described the incident as further evidence of Russia’s unwillingness to reduce tensions or pursue peace and justice.
He noted that after a humanitarian initiative in Oleshky, there was an opportunity to demonstrate that peace was achievable. However, he criticized Russia for sending the opposite message through such acts of violence. “Russia relies on more death and destruction,” he said, calling for a strong and unified response from the global community to support Ukraine and protect lives. He expressed gratitude to all those providing assistance.
