Attacks on Security Forces in Balochistan Spark Violence Across Regions

Multiple attacks on security forces in Balochistan result in casualties, with ongoing violence reported in the region.

Quetta, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : Reports from Quetta indicate a series of attacks targeting security forces in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Monday. Local media have highlighted incidents in the Nushki and Kharan districts, where armed assailants struck security personnel, raising concerns over potential casualties.

In Nushki’s Ahmad Wal area, attackers targeted security forces traveling on foot and in vehicles. Meanwhile, in Kharan, a military vehicle was caught in an explosion. Local sources claim that the movement of security personnel is hampered due to landmines laid in the area.

These incidents follow clashes in Kharan’s Lizai region a day earlier, during which a military vehicle was also involved in an explosion. Reports suggest that eight Pakistani soldiers were either killed or injured in the subsequent firefight, which allegedly included the downing of a quadcopter drone.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the latest attacks. However, the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) has asserted that it conducted 25 operations in Balochistan during October, resulting in over 129 Pakistani military and intelligence personnel being killed or seriously injured.

In a monthly report released on Sunday, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahran Baloch stated that their operations included “Operation Almas” in Gwadar district, where they claimed to have killed more than 80 military and intelligence personnel and inflicted damage on military barracks, intelligence bases, and armored vehicles.

The BLF also reported assaults on seven military checkpoints, six camps, two intelligence facilities, and 11 military convoys throughout October. They claimed to have destroyed 14 military vehicles, two surveillance drones, five quadcopters, a surveillance camera, and a mobile tower.

Additionally, the group stated they caused damage to 15 commercial trailers and trucks associated with government projects and claimed to have seized a government vehicle.

Separately, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) reported that their fighters took control of a Pakistani military camp in the Sanni area of Kachhi district on Sunday morning. According to spokesperson Dostain Baloch, the freedom fighters gained full control of the camp and killed 12 enemy personnel, with the remaining soldiers reportedly fleeing the area. They also claimed control over the town of Sanni, a police station, and several government buildings during the operation.

Furthermore, the BRG announced that their fighters detonated a gas pipeline near Bala Chowk in Rahim Yar Khan district of Punjab province. This explosion, which occurred on Sunday night, targeted a 36-inch pipeline carrying gas from the Sui area of Dera Bugti to Punjab, resulting in significant damage.

Reports have yet to independently verify these claims, and Pakistani authorities have not provided detailed responses to the allegations.
