Prime Minister Fails to Fulfill Promises, Claims Pratibha Singh from Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, March 24: Pratibha Singh, former president of the Congress party in Himachal Pradesh, has accused the Prime Minister of not fulfilling promises made during the 2022 assembly elections. She also criticized BJP MPs for failing to raise the state’s issues in Parliament.

In an interview, Singh stated, “During the 2022 assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Mandi and made several announcements. He claimed to be a son of Himachal and that the state is his second home. He promised to provide every possible assistance. After the Congress government took office, I approached him to remind him of his commitments regarding the state’s issues, but my concerns were ignored. It seems the Prime Minister has forgotten his words, as it has been quite some time.”

The former Congress president expressed her sorrow over the recent disasters in Himachal Pradesh, which resulted in the loss of many lives and widespread damage across the state. She lamented that the central government did not provide assistance during this crisis. Singh wrote to the MPs representing Himachal in the central government, suggesting they accompany her to meet the Prime Minister, but received no response. “If the BJP MPs had wanted, they could have raised these issues with the central government, but they chose not to,” she added.

Singh pointed out that the central government has halted the Revenue Deficit Grant for Himachal Pradesh, despite repeated requests from the Chief Minister. She remarked, “The BJP leaders in Himachal are merely making statements claiming that help is coming from the center, but on the ground, the state has received nothing. During times of disaster, politics should be set aside, and efforts should be made for the welfare of the state, but the BJP has failed to do so.”
