Mumbai, February 23: Political tensions have escalated following senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s remarks questioning Rahul Gandhi‘s leadership abilities. He suggested that the India alliance should be led by Mamata Banerjee. In response, the BJP launched a sharp attack on Congress and the entire opposition coalition.

BJP national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha criticized Congress, stating that the internal struggle for leadership among opposition parties indicates a lack of trust in Rahul Gandhi’s capabilities.

In an interview, Sinha remarked, “The TMC is advocating for Mamata Banerjee to lead the opposition in 2029. The DMK wants MK Stalin to take charge, while others believe Akhilesh Yadav should lead. This reflects a significant lack of confidence in Rahul Gandhi’s leadership within the opposition. Politics based on lies and confusion cannot succeed. The opposition must critique the government based on facts.”

He added that senior Congress leaders and allied parties are holding up a mirror to the party, suggesting that Congress should apologize to the public.

Sinha also responded critically to Congress’s protest at the recent AI Summit, calling it an act of extreme shamelessness. Even Margaret Alva, a former minister in the UPA government, condemned the protest as undignified. He stated that Congress workers should refrain from such behavior as it tarnishes the nation’s dignity.

He noted that several opposition leaders, who are currently not aligned with the BJP, are also advising Rahul Gandhi to avoid such politics.

Sinha accused Congress of drifting away from democratic methods and resorting to aggressive protests. He warned that if Congress does not change its approach, the public will deliver a harsh punishment in the upcoming elections.
