Noida, June 2: The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has provided significant relief to citizens by recovering 121 valuable smartphones and returning them to their rightful owners. This operation was conducted under the directives of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh.
Under the guidance of Central Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police Shailendra Kumar Singh, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Swatantra Kumar Singh and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajeev Gupta, the Central Noida Surveillance Cell and Surajpur Police achieved this success.
According to police officials, the smartphones were located with the help of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and surveillance technology. These devices had gone missing under various circumstances, with complaints filed at different police stations in the Central Noida zone. Following technical investigations and continuous monitoring, the police successfully recovered the phones and returned them to their original owners.
The investigation revealed that most of the lost smartphones were misplaced in crowded markets, vegetable and fruit markets, and weekly bazaars. Many phones were left behind in autos, taxis, buses, and metro trains. Some devices fell from pockets while riding motorcycles over speed bumps.
Additionally, several smartphones were lost during exercise or sports activities in public parks, during dance at wedding ceremonies, and at event venues. There were also cases where phones were misplaced due to intoxication. Many devices went missing at religious places such as temples, mosques, churches, and gurdwaras. Some phones were left behind by children while playing games.
Upon receiving their phones back, citizens expressed gratitude to the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police. Police officials have urged the public to immediately file complaints on the CEIR portal and inform the nearest police station in case of lost smartphones, ensuring swift recovery through technical means.
