New Delhi, March 15: A police encounter occurred late Saturday night in the Sikandrabad area of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, involving a notorious criminal. During the confrontation, the suspect was injured after being shot by police. Authorities recovered a stolen motorcycle, a firearm, a live cartridge, and a shell casing from the suspect.
According to reports, Sikandrabad police received a tip-off about the presence of a suspicious individual in the area. Acting on this information, they initiated a thorough checking operation. While patrolling near the village of Joli, officers spotted a suspicious young man riding a motorcycle. When police signaled him to stop, he attempted to flee and opened fire on the officers.
In self-defense, the police returned fire, injuring the suspect in the leg. He fell to the ground and was apprehended at the scene. The injured criminal was identified as Mangal, a resident of Joli village.
Police reports indicate that Mangal is a hardened criminal with over half a dozen cases registered against him. He has been involved in thefts and other criminal activities in the region for an extended period. Authorities had been actively searching for him.
