Police Encounter in Ghaziabad: Notorious Criminal Shot Dead

New Delhi, April 20: In a dramatic police encounter in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a wanted criminal with a bounty of ₹50,000 was shot dead on Sunday night. The suspect, known as Jameel alias Chotu, had been evading capture for an extended period.

According to police reports, Jameel was wanted in connection with a serious crime involving the rape and murder of a girl in the Teela Mod area of Ghaziabad on April 11. The police had swiftly registered a case and initiated an investigation, which revealed that the girl’s uncle, Jaseem alias Chotu, was the perpetrator. A reward of ₹50,000 was announced for information leading to his arrest.

On Sunday night, police received a tip-off regarding Jameel’s whereabouts near the Banthla canal. When the police team attempted to apprehend him, he opened fire. In response, the police returned fire, resulting in Jameel sustaining severe injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

DCP Dhaval Jaiswal of Trans Hindon confirmed the encounter and noted that two police constables were also injured during the incident and received immediate medical attention. Authorities recovered an illegal firearm and ammunition from Jameel. He had a prior criminal record and was originally from the Muzaffarnagar area.

In recognition of the SWAT team’s efforts, a reward of ₹50,000 has been announced for their commendable work. A dedicated team has been formed to apprehend the remaining accomplices who managed to escape during the encounter.
