Bhopal, April 20: A shocking incident occurred in the village of Pichodi in Madhya Pradesh’s Barwani district. A man shot his father following a dispute over money.
According to police officials, the accused, 32-year-old Chandan Badole, had been demanding ₹200,000 from his 58-year-old father, Jagan Badole. Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) Mahesh Sunaiya stated, “Jagan had previously given his son ₹200,000 but refused to provide any more. This led to escalating tensions between them. Chandan, who used to work as a welder, had been pressuring his father for more money recently.”
On Monday around 11 AM, as Jagan was returning home with his wife, Anganwadi worker Gauri Bai, Chandan confronted them on the road. After a heated argument, he pulled out a weapon and shot his father near the ear, resulting in immediate death.
Gauri Bai witnessed the incident and promptly informed the police. Following the crime, Chandan fled the scene, and authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend him.
Investigators revealed that prior to the incident, Chandan had posted a reel on social media claiming his father owned substantial land but still refused to give him money. Officials are currently examining this social media post as part of their ongoing investigation.
Preliminary inquiries also indicated that Jagan had previously given Chandan a similar amount by mortgaging a piece of land. Family sources noted that Chandan’s aggressive behavior had already caused significant strain in his personal life. His wife had left him, and he has a younger brother who is not involved in this dispute.
The local community is outraged by the incident, expressing shock over the violent outcome of a financial argument.
The police have taken custody of the body for post-mortem examination and are actively searching for Chandan. They assured the public that all angles, including his social media activity and past behavior, will be thoroughly investigated.
