Bhopal, April 21: In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across Madhya Pradesh, an 11-year-old boy was brutally murdered in the Bank Colony area of Satna on April 20. The crime has left the entire state in a state of alarm.
The accused allegedly slit the child’s throat with a sickle and then stuffed the body into a blue drum, locking the rented house from the outside before fleeing the scene immediately after the act.
This incident, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kolgawan police station, has devastated the victim’s family and created an atmosphere of fear and mourning in the locality.
The victim has been identified as a fifth-grade student. His family originally hails from Nayagaon, under the jurisdiction of the Sabhapur police station, and was living in a rented accommodation in Satna.
Reports indicate that the victim’s father suffers from mental health issues and works as a laborer in Nashik, Maharashtra, rarely returning home. The boy’s mother works as a cleaner, while his older brother is a daily wage laborer, and his sister attends college.
According to police and family statements, the incident occurred around 3:30 PM when the minor was home alone. His mother had gone to work, and other family members were also away at the time of the incident.
Upon returning home around 3 PM, the family found the house locked from the outside. Suspicion arose when they noticed one of their son’s shoes at the door and the ceiling fan still running inside.
After searching the nearby areas for their son without success, they informed their older son and daughter and immediately sought police assistance.
Led by Kolgawan police station in-charge Sudip Soni, along with FSL officer Mahendra Singh and ASP City Shivesh Singh Baghel, the police arrived at the scene and broke the lock on the house.
What they found inside was horrifying: bloodstains were spread across the floor, a blood-soaked pillow lay on the bed, and blood splatters were visible on the walls.
Following the blood trail inside the house, police discovered the boy’s body stuffed in a blue drum. The child had been murdered by slitting his throat with a sharp sickle.
The body has been sent for post-mortem to determine the nature of the injuries and the exact cause of death.
The accused has been identified as 45-year-old Mathura Rajak, a resident of the Satna bus stand area who runs a dry-cleaning business.
He is suspected of committing the crime due to personal animosity and past disputes with the victim’s family. Reports suggest he had a longstanding feud with the victim’s mother.
