Tamil Nadu Elections: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to Campaign Intensively on Tuesday

Bhopal, April 20: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh will embark on a one-day visit to Tamil Nadu on Tuesday for the upcoming assembly elections. This marks his first electoral tour in Tamil Nadu ahead of the voting scheduled for April 23.

The timing of this visit is crucial as the official campaigning will conclude on the evening of April 21. Voting will take place in a single phase across all 234 assembly seats on April 23, with the counting of votes set for May 4.

During his campaign, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will address public gatherings in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates. He will also engage with party workers in key constituencies to boost their morale. BJP leaders have described this tour as a final push to strengthen the party’s presence in select areas of the state.

This election in Tamil Nadu is shaping up to be complex and multi-faceted. The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) coalition, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, is striving for re-election, facing stiff competition from the AIADMK coalition, which has the backing of the BJP. Additionally, parties like the Naam Tamilar Katchi and Tamilaga Vetrik Katchi are also in the fray, making the contest even more intriguing.

The BJP has ramped up its campaign efforts in the final phase, deploying senior leaders across various states. Under this strategy, Chief Minister Yadav aims to enhance the party’s visibility and garner support in Tamil Nadu. Previously, he held rallies in Kharagpur and Kamrahati in West Bengal, where he criticized the Mamata Banerjee government on governance and law-and-order issues.

Mohan Yadav’s active involvement reflects the BJP’s broader national strategy, which leverages senior leadership to increase organizational presence and reach out to voters.
