New Delhi, February 26: NDA leaders have hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s achievement of surpassing 100 million followers on Instagram as a testament to his global popularity, continuous public engagement, and strong connection with the youth. On Thursday, PM Modi became the first leader in the world to reach this milestone on the social media platform.
Since joining Instagram in 2014, Prime Minister Modi has transformed his account into one of the most active and widely followed digital platforms among global leaders over the past decade. His digital presence has consistently grown, aiding in direct communication with people both in India and around the world.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal stated that this milestone reflects the Prime Minister’s global identity and influence. “Through his work and determination, Prime Minister Modi has carved out a unique position not just in India but across the globe, making him one of the most popular leaders worldwide,” he said.
Khandelwal also emphasized that the Prime Minister’s commitment to making India a ‘Vishwaguru’ and elevating the Indian economy on the global stage continues to inspire people.
BJP national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha linked the Prime Minister’s digital popularity to his extensive public outreach. He noted that such a level of popularity is typically associated with major global artists or actors, yet PM Modi’s popularity has steadily increased over the past 20 years. This indicates that the youth have widely embraced the Prime Minister’s vision and ideas.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar remarked that the new generation is rapidly connecting through digital platforms, making the achievement of 100 million followers a significant milestone. He added that PM Modi’s global credibility is a key reason for the continuous growth of his supporter base.
Madhav Anand, a legislator from the National Lok Morcha, also linked this achievement to the Prime Minister’s international popularity. He stated that PM Modi’s recognition is not limited to India; his popularity spans every corner of the world, making the increase in followers a natural outcome.
Currently, PM Modi has the highest number of followers on Instagram among major international leaders. His strong presence is also evident on other social media platforms, with 106.2 million followers on ‘X’ and over 54 million on Facebook.
