
New Delhi, May 5: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vehemently condemned the recent attack on a port in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), expressing solidarity with the nation. The assault resulted in injuries to three Indian nationals. World leaders have also denounced these attacks on the UAE.
PM Modi stated, “We strongly condemn the attacks on the UAE, which have injured three Indian citizens. Targeting civilians and infrastructure is unacceptable. India stands firmly with the UAE and reiterates its support for peaceful resolutions to all issues through dialogue and diplomacy. Ensuring safe and uninterrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is crucial for maintaining peace, stability, and global energy security in the region.”
European Council President Antonio Costa expressed solidarity with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed and the people of the UAE on social media, stating, “We cannot accept the wrongful missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure by Iran. This violation of sovereignty and international law must be stopped. Iran should engage in dialogue to maintain a ceasefire in the Middle East.”
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz commented on the incident, saying, “The UAE has once again been targeted by Iranian drone and missile attacks. We strongly condemn these assaults. Our solidarity is with the people of the UAE and our partners in the region.”
In another post, he added, “Tehran must return to the negotiating table, and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz must end. Tehran should not acquire nuclear weapons, and there should be no further threats or attacks against our partners.”
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated, “Canada condemns the missile and drone attacks on the UAE without provocation from Iran. We stand with Mohammed bin Zayed and the people of the UAE. We appreciate the efforts made to protect civilians and infrastructure. Canada reiterates its call for de-escalation and diplomacy in the region.”
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer criticized Iran for the attacks on the UAE, affirming continued support for partners in the Gulf. He remarked, “This tension must end. Iran should engage in the right dialogue to maintain a ceasefire in the Middle East and seek a long-term diplomatic solution.”
