PM Modi Shares Thrilling Rally Image from Birbhum, West Bengal

Kolkata, April 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media on Thursday to share an image showcasing a massive crowd gathered at a rally site in Suri, Birbhum district, eagerly awaiting his arrival.

He noted that the venue was packed with supporters, which he interpreted as a strong indication of the BJP’s growing influence in the state.

In his post on X, PM Modi wrote, “I am heading to address a rally in Birbhum. The ground is filled with people who have come to shower their blessings. BJP is everywhere in West Bengal.”

The photo he shared depicted a large turnout at the rally, suggesting significant public interest in PM Modi’s event. BJP supporters began arriving hours before the rally was scheduled to start.

This rally in Birbhum marks PM Modi’s third public event of the day in the state, following programs in Haldia and Asansol. Despite being the last rally of the day, the area was already bustling with supporters, reflecting high hopes and enthusiasm among the crowd.

Jagannath Chatterjee, the BJP candidate from Suri, told news agencies that the atmosphere in the region clearly indicated robust public support for the party.

He stated, “You can see the excitement among the people. The ground is already filled, even though there is still time for the Prime Minister to arrive. Supporters have come from all over Birbhum. This is going to be a historic rally. We are confident that we will win most seats and oust the Trinamool.”

Supporters at the venue also linked their backing to issues of development and security. One individual remarked that the state needs the kind of development seen under the Prime Minister’s leadership. “We want development in West Bengal, and we believe it is possible under PM Modi’s guidance,” he said.

A female supporter expressed her happiness about PM Modi’s visit to Birbhum, stating, “We want BJP to win here. Women do not feel safe. Our families hesitate to let us go out after 8 PM. We want a secure environment.”

As chants and cheers filled the air, a high level of political engagement was evident among the crowd. Supporters expressed optimism about the rally’s potential impact on the electoral landscape in West Bengal.

An interesting moment occurred during a separate rally in Asansol on the same day when a person in the crowd held up a poster addressing the Prime Minister, which read, “Respected Modi Ji, please save West Bengal.” The poster highlighted various issues faced by the public, including corruption, law and order, infiltration, women’s safety, and unemployment.

This moment came as the electoral campaign intensified ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal. Voting is scheduled to occur in two phases on April 23 and April 29. The first phase will cover 152 seats, while the remaining 142 seats will be voted on in the second phase. The counting of votes will take place on May 4.
