The verse reads: “तन्तुं तन्वन्रजसो भानुमन्विहि ज्योतिष्मतः पथो रक्ष धिया कृतान्. अनुल्बणं वयत जोगुवामपो मनुर्भव जनया दैव्यं जनम्॥”
The essence of this quote is that individuals should strive to perform great deeds while upholding their traditions and wisdom. It encourages following a path illuminated by reason and righteousness, adopting the virtues of esteemed individuals, and continuously engaging in thoughtful reflection to foster divine qualities in society.
Just a day earlier, on Wednesday, the Prime Minister shared another quote, stating, “ज्ञानवृद्धाः प्रशंसन्ति शुश्रूषन्तः परस्परम्. विनिवृत्ताभिसन्धानाः सुखमेधन्ति सर्वशः॥” This translates to the idea that knowledgeable and virtuous individuals treat each other with respect, service, and goodwill. They progress in life joyfully, free from selfish motives.
On Tuesday, he shared a Sanskrit verse: “उत्तमैः सह साङ्गत्यं पण्डितैः सह सत्कथाम्. अलुब्धैः सह मित्रत्वं कुर्वाणो नावसीदति॥” This means that a person who associates with the best, engages in meaningful conversations with scholars, and befriends selfless individuals will never face sorrow.
