New Delhi, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media platform X on Thursday to share a profound message about self-sacrifice, emphasizing the virtues of those who dedicate their lives to the nation’s cause. He quoted a Sanskrit verse that highlights the significance of giving up personal pleasures for the pursuit of self-governance.
The verse shared by Modi reads: “भस्मीकृतस्वार्थसौख्यपरिचर्चितविग्रहाः. स्वराज्ययोगनिर्मग्ना धन्यास्ते वीरयोगिनः॥” Its essence conveys that individuals who renounce their personal happiness and devote their entire being to the quest for self-rule are indeed blessed for their contributions to the nation.
This Sanskrit shloka, known as ‘Subhashitam’, articulates that those who have completely obliterated their selfish desires and comforts, and who wear the ashes of that sacrifice, are truly immersed in the pursuit of their country’s freedom. Such courageous individuals are regarded as blessed patriots.
The verse specifically refers to ‘Veer Yogis’, or patriotic individuals, highlighting that they are the ones truly honored for their total dedication to the service of the nation.
