New Delhi, September 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the nation for achieving a remarkable 7.8% GDP growth in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27. He expressed that this growth has filled the country with joy and praised the determination and hard work of the citizens, calling it a reflection of collective strength.
The Prime Minister remarked on the global situation, stating, “The world is engulfed in war, with news of conflicts coming from all sides. The world is surrounded by crises, and the supply chain is completely disrupted. Since the COVID pandemic in 2020, stability has been elusive. Despite these challenges, India is progressing rapidly.” He acknowledged that there are individuals within the country spreading despair and falsehoods, yet the nation has achieved this significant growth.
PM Modi emphasized the need to maintain this momentum. He urged the importance of becoming self-reliant, advocating for the mantra of ‘Vocal for Local.’ He advised against unnecessary foreign travel and weddings abroad, encouraging citizens to embrace the ‘Made in India’ ethos. He stressed that minimizing gold purchases is essential. “The more we focus on self-reliance, the more confident I am that by the 100th year of our independence, we will hand over a developed India to the younger generation,” he stated.
He concluded by affirming that the dreams of the youth will be realized through hard work. “Let us not diminish our efforts. Our policies are right, our intentions are clear, and the strength of 1.4 billion citizens is uniting to elevate the nation to new heights. Let’s celebrate our achievements and commit to our goals together. Best wishes and congratulations to all,” he added.
