New Delhi, May 3: Congress leader Pawan Khera received a warm welcome from supporters upon his arrival in the capital. This reception coincided with his recent grant of anticipatory bail from the Supreme Court. The bail pertains to a case filed by the Assam police based on a complaint from Rinki Bhuyan Sarma, the wife of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Khera was accused of claiming that Rinki Bhuyan Sarma possessed multiple passports. Speaking to a news agency, he stated, “The relief I received from the Supreme Court is due to the Constitution written by Babasaheb Ambedkar. We are confident that a decisive mandate will be given against these oppressive governments. Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, and all of us are continuously questioning the credibility of the Election Commission, yet it never bothers to respond.”
He further emphasized, “The Constitution always emerges as a savior. Whenever someone faces difficulties or fights against an oppressive government, B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution comes to their aid. The relief I received from the Supreme Court is also because of this Constitution.”
Khera remarked, “The Supreme Court granted me bail. This bail sends a clear message to the entire nation: whenever the rights of an ordinary citizen are violated by the government, Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution will surely come to their defense. It has come to my aid as well.”
He asserted that whenever any government infringes upon the rights of ordinary citizens, including those in the opposition, Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution will undoubtedly step forward to protect them. He expressed confidence that a decisive verdict will emerge against such oppressive governments at the center and in some states, as people are questioning their actions. “Whenever their credibility is questioned, the Election Commission should also respond,” he added.
Khera concluded by stating that the Assam government attempted to frame him, but the Supreme Court did not allow that to happen. “We have complete faith in the Constitution. It protects everyone, and that is how we have prevailed.”
