Pappu Yadav Questions Timely ED-CBI Raids During Elections

In a recent statement from Purnia, MP Pappu Yadav raised concerns over the Enforcement Directorate’s raid at Kolkata-based IPAC. He questioned why the ED chose to act only now, during election season, if any wrongdoing had occurred earlier. He suggested that the ED operates under BJP’s influence and activates raids primarily at election time.

Pappu Yadav expressed confidence in West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, stating that she is not afraid of such actions. He said, “Everyone knows this raid was aimed at troubling Mamata Banerjee, but she will respond to the BJP in its own style.”

Speaking further from Purnia, the MP criticised the BJP for allegedly using agencies like the ED and CBI as political tools before elections. He asked, “Why do these agencies remain inactive for five years and suddenly become active only during elections? Even the Election Commission appears to fight elections under BJP’s rule.” He added that accusing leaders like Mamata Banerjee and Lalu Prasad Yadav of corruption without proof was unfair. “If Mamata were truly corrupt, why wasn’t she jailed earlier? She is brave and is giving BJP a strong reply,” he said.

On Congress leader Manishankar Aiyar’s remarks on Hindutva, Pappu Yadav acknowledged the value of Sanatan culture but warned against extremism. He said, “Our Constitution guarantees freedom of speech, food, residence, and movement, but people are creating divisions in the name of religion. The Hindutva you speak of promotes exploitation and disregards the Constitution.”

He highlighted India’s identity as the world’s largest democracy and a sovereign nation, home to spiritual leaders like Ram, Shiv, Nanak, Buddha, Kabir, Valmiki, Sant Ravidas, Periyar, Savitribai Phule, and Mahatma Phule. Pappu Yadav made a heartfelt appeal, stating that if the aim is to make India a truly Sanatan or Hindu nation, then leaders must ensure inter-caste marriages, especially involving the 27% Dalit (SC-ST) population.

He proposed that the 27% Dalits and 17% EBC (Economically Backward Classes) should be given 67% rights first, while other communities such as Rajputs, Bhumihars, Koiri, Kurmi, and others should intermarry among themselves.

This statement reflects ongoing political debates concerning the role of central agencies during elections and discussions on social unity and caste dynamics in India.
