
New Delhi, June 22: President Droupadi Murmu will present the Padma Awards at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 23. A total of 65 individuals will receive these prestigious awards, including Dr. Chandramouli Gaddamanugu from Telangana and Professor Dr. Mahendra Nath Roy from West Bengal.
The ceremony, starting at 5 PM, will be attended by Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with several central ministers and distinguished guests.
During this civic honors ceremony, the President will award two Padma Vibhushan, seven Padma Bhushan, and 56 Padma Shri awards, totaling 65 awards.
In an exclusive interview, mridangam player Tiruvaarur Bhaktavatsalam expressed his joy at receiving the Padma Shri. He stated, “I am very happy. This is a highly prestigious award in the field of arts. I am grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, all members of the Padma Award Committee, and all music lovers.”
Dr. Chandramouli Gaddamanugu from Telangana remarked that the Padma Shri is a recognition of his hard work in the field of technology. “I am glad to have been chosen for this honor,” he said.
Professor Dr. Mahendra Nath Roy also expressed his happiness at receiving the Padma Shri award. Roy is recognized as one of the leading figures in chemical research and education in India, particularly noted for his significant contributions to physical chemistry.
Renowned Indologist Lyudmila Viktorovna Khokhlova will receive the Padma Shri for her contributions to literature and education. She shared, “A friend informed me that I would receive this award, and I couldn’t believe it. I haven’t done such significant work. Later, I received confirmation from the embassy that I was honored in the field of literature. I teach students and strive to encourage them to read more about famous authors.”
Chiranjilal Yadav from Moradabad expressed his pride in receiving the Padma Shri, stating, “It is a matter of great joy. Receiving this award from the President is a matter of pride for me. I thank the Prime Minister. I have been engraving brass utensils for years, and this honor in the field of art is truly special.”
Pokhila Lekthepi from Assam will also receive the Padma Shri for her outstanding contributions to the arts. She said, “I may not know much, but I love singing. I write my own songs, compose, and sing. Singing has been my passion since childhood. I always try to sing. My advice is to strive for progress from all directions; success will surely follow.”
