Washington, April 9: The Pentagon announced on Wednesday that the United States conducted over 13,000 strikes during Operation ‘Epic Fury’. This extensive military campaign resulted in the loss of 13 American soldiers.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force General Dan Ken, emphasized the operation’s scale, intensity, and reach. He stated, “Since the onset of combat operations, U.S. joint forces have targeted more than 13,000 objectives.”
Among these targets, over 4,000 emerged unexpectedly during the conflict and were swiftly engaged through an advanced command-and-control system.
The operation involved more than 10,000 missions, including 62 bomber flights. Some of these missions took over 30 hours to complete, traveling from the U.S. to Iran and back.
Ken noted that no other military in the world could achieve such a feat, showcasing America’s logistical capabilities.
The campaign targeted various components of Iran’s military infrastructure. U.S. forces destroyed over 450 ballistic missile storage sites, 801 drone storage locations, and more than 1,500 air defense targets, effectively crippling around 80 percent of Iran’s air defense capacity.
Ken reported significant damage to Iran’s command and control networks, with over 2,000 systems destroyed, undermining their military coordination capabilities.
He stated, “We have severely devastated Iran’s command, control, and logistics networks.”
Naval operations were also extensive. The U.S. claims to have sunk over 90 percent of Iran’s naval fleet, including large warships, and destroyed more than 95 percent of naval mines through over 700 strikes.
The impact of this assault extended to Iran’s defense industry, with nearly 90 percent of weapon factories targeted, including those producing drone and missile components.
Ken mentioned that approximately 80 percent of Iran’s nuclear industrial base was also affected.
For this operation, over 50,000 American soldiers were deployed in the Central Command area and other locations.
Throughout the campaign, the Pentagon confirmed the deaths of 13 American soldiers. Ken remarked, “We will never forget our fallen heroes and their families, especially the 13 soldiers who lost their lives in Operation Epic Fury.”
