
Mumbai, March 16: At the 98th Academy Awards, the film “One Battle After Another” by Paul Thomas Anderson took home six Oscars, surpassing “Sinners,” which won four awards.
“Sinners” made history by being nominated in 16 categories. Ryan Coogler received the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, marking his first win. Prior to this ceremony, he had already secured the Best Original Screenplay award at the Critics’ Choice Awards, Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and WGA Awards.
Ludwig Göransson won his second Oscar for Best Original Song for “Sinners,” bringing his total to three. The Swedish composer previously won for “Black Panther” and “Oppenheimer.” He was nominated alongside American singer Raphael Saadiq for the song “I Lied to You.”
Autumn Durald Arkapaw made history as the first woman to win the Oscar for Best Cinematography for “Sinners.” She expressed her gratitude to all the women present, acknowledging that she wouldn’t have reached this milestone without them.
The final and most prestigious award of the night went to actor Michael B. Jordan, who won Best Actor for his dual role in “Sinners.” He thanked all Black Oscar winners, including Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, and Will Smith.
