Mumbai, March 20: The film industry is in mourning following the passing of renowned fashion designer and producer Manish Malhotra’s mother. She passed away yesterday, and her last rites were conducted at the Santa Cruz crematorium with Hindu rituals on Friday. Many from the film fraternity gathered to offer their condolences during this difficult time.
Outside the crematorium, numerous stars paid their respects. Among them were Karan Johar, Urmila Matondkar, Rakul Preet Singh, Jackie Bhagnani, David Dhawan, Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Malaika Arora, Karan Thakkar, Freddy Daruwala, Nidhi Dutta, and Sofia Chaudhary.
Earlier, several prominent figures from Bollywood visited Manish Malhotra’s home to express their sympathies. Notable couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were seen arriving at his residence, along with Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani.
Manish Malhotra is celebrated in Bollywood for his exquisite designs, creating outfits for numerous films and celebrities. His mother, Garima Malhotra, played a pivotal role in his success, providing emotional support during his early struggles and teaching him the importance of staying grounded.
