Kamal Haasan Honored with Prestigious Paddy Jairaj Film Award

Mumbai, March 20: Renowned actor Kamal Haasan has been awarded the Paddy Jairaj Film Award at the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards. This accolade recognizes his lifetime contributions and exceptional work in the film industry. Haasan expressed his joy over this honor on social media.

On Friday, he shared several photos on the social media platform X while receiving the award. He posted, “I sincerely thank Honorable Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Honorable Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for reviving the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards. I am honored to accept the prestigious Paddy Jairaj Film Award.”

Haasan further noted that by reinstating this award, the government has not only provided recognition but also highlighted the importance of such platforms in valuing artists’ courage, cultural memories, and the voice of the public. He congratulated all fellow award winners and the entire team for organizing the event splendidly, stating, “Long live cinema.”

Paddy Jairaj was a celebrated actor and a Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner, associated with the early days of Indian cinema. This award is given in his honor to artists with significant contributions to the film industry.

Throughout his career, Kamal Haasan has made substantial contributions to the entertainment world by working in multiple languages. He is a legendary director, producer, and writer in Indian cinema, with a career spanning over six decades. He began as a child artist and gained fame in a lead role with ‘Apoorva Raagangal’ (1975). Under his production company, Rajkamal Films International, he has produced films like ‘Hey Ram’ and ‘Vishwaroopam.’ Haasan is also well-known for films such as ‘Nayakan’ (1987), ‘Sadma,’ and ‘Dasavathaaram,’ and has received four National Awards and 19 Filmfare Awards.
