
Mumbai, March 20: On the occasion of the Uttar Pradesh government’s nine-year anniversary, Minister Brijesh Singh released a booklet detailing the achievements of Gautam Buddha Nagar at a gathering in the Collectorate auditorium. The event was attended by local representatives and officials, including Legislative Council member Narendra Bhati, MLA Dhirendra Singh (Jewar), MLA Tejpal Nagar (Dadri), District Panchayat President Amit Chaudhary, BJP District President Abhishek Sharma, and Municipal President Mahesh Chauhan, among other dignitaries.
Minister Singh stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has achieved historic milestones in governance, security, and inclusive development over the past nine years.
He emphasized that since 2017, there has been not just a government but a transformation in the system, rapidly changing Uttar Pradesh’s image from a backward state to a developed one. Speaking on law and order, the minister noted that over ₹4,000 crore worth of mafia properties have been seized or demolished under the “zero tolerance” policy. Additionally, 53 organized crime gangs have been dismantled, and action has been taken against 977 criminals under the National Security Act (NSA). To strengthen police services, 219,000 police officers have been recruited, and the response time for UP-112 has been reduced to six minutes.
Regarding welfare schemes, he mentioned that approximately 150 million people are receiving free rations, and 60 million have risen above the poverty line. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, 56 million cards have been issued, providing health security to 90 million people. Women’s empowerment has seen significant contributions from self-help groups, with 10.6 million women participating and 1.8 million becoming “lakhpati didis.”
The agricultural sector has also made remarkable progress, with food grain production reaching 73.7 million metric tons and over ₹3.15 lakh crore paid to sugarcane farmers. Direct financial assistance has been provided to 31.2 million farmers under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. In terms of youth employment, over 900,000 government jobs have been created, and 4.986 million youths have received tablets and smartphones. Additionally, no-collateral loan schemes are being promoted to encourage self-employment.
Infrastructure development has accelerated, with rapid expansions of expressways, airports, and metro networks. Major projects like the Ganga Expressway are steering development in new directions.
Furthermore, initiatives such as semiconductor unit establishments and rapid rail projects are progressing. The state has gained global recognition through tourism and cultural development, highlighted by projects like the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and developments in Ayodhya. Events such as the Mahakumbh 2025 are elevating tourism to new heights.
The minister concluded by stating that Uttar Pradesh’s Gross State Domestic Product has surged from ₹13 lakh crore to nearly ₹36 lakh crore, positioning the state on a fast track to becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2029-30. He asserted that Uttar Pradesh is playing a crucial role as a strong engine in the country’s development journey.
