New Delhi, 2 January: The controversy over Kolkata Knight Riders signing a Bangladeshi player is intensifying. After narrator Devkinandan Thakur, BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia has also expressed opposition. He demanded that KKR should terminate the contract with the Bangladeshi cricketer.

In a conversation with a news agency, BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia said, “Devkinandan Thakur may be speaking from a religious perspective, but given how Hindus are being targeted in Bangladesh, and if Shahrukh Khan wants to stay in Mumbai or India, he could have included many Indian players. Deliberately signing a Bangladeshi player is clearly meant to create controversy, which is wrong. His contract should be ended.”

Earlier, Devkinandan Thakur stated that it should be accepted that no Bangladeshi cricketer should play in the IPL. The money earned here should not be used against our Hindu brothers and sisters. We, our Sanatan board, and all associated true Sanatanis desire this.

Warning further, Devkinandan Thakur said, “If our demand is not met, those connected with the Sanatan religion will protest. We also have our strategy and will demonstrate in the near future how patriotism can be shown through sports.”

Separately, BJP MP also responded to Congress leader P. Chidambaram’s comments on Tamil Nadu’s economy. He said, “If the government is running at a loss, it indicates poor governance. It is the government’s responsibility to provide facilities to the people. Chidambaram should also advise the Karnataka government on this.”
