Mumbai, March 14: The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), three-time IPL champions, have launched their new jersey for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026). This new design is themed ‘Lines of Legacy’.
The jersey’s design highlights significant moments that have shaped KKR’s journey over the years. From Brendon McCullum’s memorable 158 runs in the inaugural match of the league in 2008 to Rinku Singh’s five sixes in the last over, KKR has delivered many iconic moments that have become part of IPL history.
In a statement, KKR said, “This season, those lines are not just remembered—they are woven into the jersey, allowing fans to wear a piece of the team’s story.”
Speaking at the jersey unveiling, Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders Sports, stated, “The Lines of Legacy encapsulates KKR’s rich history and celebrates the journey of the team over the years. Each line represents a crucial part of our remarkable moments, showcasing the energy and passion that has helped us build our identity. We take pride in this legacy and aim to continue it in the upcoming season while creating even more memories for our fans.”
According to the schedule released by the BCCI, KKR will kick off their campaign on March 29 at Wankhede Stadium against five-time champions Mumbai Indians. KKR will play their first match at their home ground, Eden Gardens, on April 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
In the IPL 2026 auction, KKR strengthened their squad by acquiring big players like Cameron Green, Matheesha Pathirana, Rovman Powell, and Finn Allen.
