Beijing, October 14 (Daily Kiran): As the smartphone camera race heats up, Nubia is ready to make a bold statement with its upcoming Z80 Ultra. The brand’s latest teasers have revealed sample images from all three lenses, promising what it calls “natural imaging” — a move aimed squarely at enthusiasts who prefer authenticity over aggressive image processing.

According to the company, the triple-camera setup includes a 35mm main shooter (50MP OV990 sensor, 1/1.3-inch, f/1.7 aperture), an 18mm ultra-wide camera (1/1.55-inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture), and a 70mm telephoto lens (f/2.4, OIS, up to 50x hybrid zoom via 12x digital crop).
Major Camera Upgrades
The biggest improvement appears in the ultra-wide lens, which now uses a larger sensor compared to the Z70S Ultra’s 13mm f/2.0 setup. This should allow better light capture, less distortion, and improved color correction — thanks to Nubia’s enhanced lens algorithm.
Camera Samples: Natural and Balanced
The shared samples highlight Nubia’s focus on real-world color tones and true-to-life contrast. The main 35mm lens produces natural saturation and dynamic range without the artificial sharpness typical of heavy processing. While some teaser images appear slightly soft, that’s likely due to compression from social media uploads.
The 18mm ultra-wide delivers consistent tones and accurate white balance under bright daylight, though its perspective feels more “wide” than truly “ultra.” Meanwhile, the 70mm telephoto shows crisp subject separation, strong contrast, and minimal noise, even at a 2x digital crop.
Design and Hardware
Design-wise, the Z80 Ultra carries forward the clean, curved aesthetic of its predecessor, the Z70S Ultra, featuring a dedicated shutter button and a refined camera module reminiscent of vintage cameras.
Under the hood, the device will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and pack a massive 7,200mAh battery, positioning it as one of the most durable flagships in its class.
Launch Details
The Nubia Z80 Ultra is set to launch on October 22 in China, and early impressions suggest it could become a strong contender for creators seeking a balance between hardware power and photographic realism.
