New Features and Major Upgrades in Nothing OS 4.1
1. New Widgets
Nothing OS 4.1 introduces three new widgets, known as Breathing Break widgets. These are designed to facilitate simple breathing exercises, helping users reset during their day.
These widgets can be easily added to the home screen from the widget library. Tapping a widget initiates a timer and guides users through inhaling and exhaling exercises.
Additionally, the Essential Apps section in the widget drawer now highlights recommended apps for instant addition to your home screen.
2. Enhanced Lock Screen Customization
The update brings a new clock face from the Phone (3a) Community Edition, featuring a unique typeface and a special waking-up animation.
It also introduces a Depth Effect, layering the lock screen clock behind the main subject of your wallpaper, creating a 3D effect. Users can adjust the clock size and alignment for a personalized layout.
3. AI Eraser Feature
The native Gallery app now includes the “AI Eraser” feature, which intelligently detects bystanders and reflections, allowing manual selection of areas to remove.
Nothing assures users that their data remains private, with no cloud processing required. This feature does remove the Ultra XDR effect, meaning an internet connection is not necessary.
4. Live Updates with Glyph Bar
Live Updates in Nothing OS 4.1 provide real-time information across the Always-On Display, Status Bar, Lock Screen, and Notifications. This feature enhances convenience by reducing the time needed to check ongoing activities. It also integrates with the Glyph Bar.
5. Camera and Additional Changes
The update introduces a new Cricket preset for fans of RCB, featuring a Nothing x RCB watermark, as the brand is the title sponsor of the IPL team.
Furthermore, support for Playground Sync is added, allowing users to import photo presets from Nothing Playground effortlessly. A new power-saving recording feature automatically dims the screen brightness during video recording to conserve battery life.
