Guwahati, August 3: A significant opportunity has emerged for sports enthusiasts seeking employment in the railway sector. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has issued an official notification inviting applications for a total of 56 positions dedicated to qualified athletes across various sports disciplines.

The online application process commenced on July 25, with the deadline set for August 24. Interested candidates can submit their registration forms on the official Northeast Frontier Railway portal before the deadline.
Applicants must have completed their 10th grade (Matriculation) or possess an ITI or equivalent qualification from a recognized board/council/institution. Additionally, candidates should have represented the country in any Category-B championship/event or secured at least third place in a Category-C championship/event. They may also have achieved similar placements in senior, youth, or junior national championships or the National Games organized under the Indian Olympic Association.
Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years old as of January 1, 2027. Age relaxation is applicable for candidates from reserved categories.
Selection will be based on shortlisting, sports performance trials, interviews, and evaluations of sports achievements, educational qualifications, and medical examinations. Selected candidates will receive a salary according to the 7th CPC pay matrix, ranging from Level-1 to Level-3, along with additional benefits.
While filling out the application, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online: ₹500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹250 for SC/ST/ex-servicemen/women/minority and economically weaker sections.
