Patna, June 4: Nitin Nawin, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), held a significant meeting at his residence on Thursday to prepare for the upcoming Legislative Council elections. Following the meeting, BJP State President Sanjay Sarawagi stated that the Bankipur Assembly seat has long been a stronghold for the BJP, with the party’s performance consistently improving in the area. The BJP will contest this seat in collaboration with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Sanjay Sarawagi emphasized that despite his elevation to the national leadership, Nitin Nawin remains connected to his roots and the soil of Bihar. He noted that even after reaching the top position in the party, Nawin maintains regular contact with the state and frequently visits.
Sarawagi also provided updates on the party’s preparations for the upcoming Legislative Council (MLC) elections and potential by-elections in the Bankipur Assembly constituency. He mentioned that the nomination process and dates for the MLC elections have been finalized, while discussions regarding potential candidates and electoral strategies for the Bankipur by-election are ongoing within the organization.
He clarified that it has been the BJP’s tradition to provide opportunities for dedicated workers to contest elections, and in line with this tradition, a party worker will be nominated as a candidate from Bankipur.
Meanwhile, the arrival of several senior ministers from the Bihar government, including Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, at Nitin Nawin’s residence sparked discussions in political circles. Speculations arose regarding the meeting, but BJP leaders described it as a routine process related to organizational and electoral preparations.
Central Minister Ram Kripal Yadav remarked that the Bankipur Assembly area has traditionally been Nitin Nawin’s political domain, and discussions were held with key workers considering potential electoral scenarios in the future. He stated that the objective of the meeting was to strengthen the organization and devise strategies for the upcoming elections.
