Nita Ambani Honored with KISS Humanitarian Award for Empowering Women and Social Work

New Delhi, March 17: Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, was awarded the prestigious ‘KISS Humanitarian Award 2025’ on Tuesday. The ceremony took place in Bhubaneswar, where she was recognized for her significant contributions to social work through the Reliance Foundation.

The award was presented during an event at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), honoring her impactful initiatives. Nobel laureate Mohan Munasinghe and Achyuta Samanta, founder of KISS, KIIT, and KIMS, were among those who conferred the award.

Approximately 40,000 tribal students attended the ceremony, welcoming her with traditional performances. In her speech, Nita Ambani expressed pride in receiving the award and dedicated it to her entire team at the Reliance Foundation.

She praised Achyuta Samanta, stating that institutions like KIIT and KISS are a source of pride for the nation. Nita Ambani also expressed gratitude for the warmth and welcome she received from the students, promising to cherish the experience.

She commended Odisha’s rich culture and traditions, noting the deep connection its people have with nature. Encouraging students, she emphasized that there is no difference between boys and girls, as both possess equal potential. She urged them to dream big, work hard, and follow the path of honesty.

Observing the students at KISS, she felt confident that India’s future is bright. Nita Ambani described this visit as a special and memorable experience.

Established in 2008, the KISS Humanitarian Award is the highest honor given by the institute, recognizing individuals and organizations worldwide for their outstanding social work. The award includes a certificate and a gold-plated trophy, symbolizing compassion, hope, and the spirit of helping others.
