
New Delhi, March 23: The sixth Guru of Sikhism, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, is being commemorated today on Jyoti Jyot Day. Prominent leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, have paid their respects on this significant occasion.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to social media platform X to express, “Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji established the tradition of Sant-Sipahi, making Sikhism a powerful means for the protection of humanity. Through the Akal Takht, he strengthened Sikhism and conveyed the message of Hindu-Sikh unity by freeing Hindus from Mughal captivity. I respectfully pay my homage on the occasion of Jyoti Jyot Day.”
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan shared, “On Jyoti Jyot Day of the revered sixth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, I offer my heartfelt tribute at his feet. Your teachings and exemplary life will always inspire the protection of religion and the fulfillment of duty.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid tribute, stating in a post on X, “Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj, a symbol of religion, courage, and self-respect, inspired society to stand against injustice by showing the path of valor and dignity with spiritual consciousness. His life embodies the spirit of Sant-Sipahi, which will always guide the nation and humanity.”
Union Minister and Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary also honored Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji on Jyoti Jyot Day, noting that his teachings on courage, leadership, and dedication to humanity continue to guide us today.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed in a post on X, “On Jyoti Jyot Day of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the protector of the oppressed and the embodiment of the confluence of arms and scriptures, I pay my heartfelt tribute. Your teachings will always inspire us to stand against injustice and serve humanity.”
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini paid tribute to Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, stating, “The life of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji is a unique symbol of valor, service, and unwavering faith. By harmonizing arms and scriptures, he not only revitalized the Sikh faith but also inspired us to courageously stand against injustice. To truly honor him, we must walk the path of service, dedication, and humanity. Let us resolve to strengthen unity, harmony, and brotherhood in society by adopting his ideals.”
