NHAI Increases FASTag Annual Pass Fee by ₹75

New Delhi, March 15: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced on Sunday that it will raise the FASTag annual pass fee by ₹75.

According to NHAI, users will now need to pay ₹3,075 for the FASTag annual pass, up from the previous fee of ₹3,000. This new fee will take effect from April 1, 2026.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways stated, “NHAI has declared an increase in the FASTag annual pass fee for the financial year 2026-27 from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075.”

This adjustment aligns with the provisions of the National Highway Fee (Determination and Collection) Rules, 2008.

The FASTag annual pass is gaining popularity among private vehicle owners, with over 5.6 million users currently benefiting from it.

The revised annual pass will remain available for eligible non-commercial vehicles equipped with valid FASTags.

It can be utilized at approximately 1,150 toll plazas located on national highways and expressways across the country.

The FASTag annual pass helps users avoid frequent recharges. It requires a one-time payment that remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first.

This feature is designed to make highway travel more convenient and cost-effective for regular commuters.

Once payment is made, the annual pass activates on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle within two hours.

Users can purchase or renew the pass through the Highway Travel app or the official NHAI website.

It further states, “The annual pass activates on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle within two hours after the one-time fee is paid through the Highway Travel app or the NHAI website.”

The FASTag annual pass was launched on Independence Day, August 15, 2025.

NHAI noted that the growing popularity of the pass reflects the convenience it offers to those who frequently travel on national highways across India.
