New Delhi, March 15: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated on Sunday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to come to power in West Bengal, as the public is tired of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Following the Election Commission’s announcement of the election dates, Rijiju emphasized that the BJP is always prepared for any situation. He reiterated the party’s commitment to the nation and the importance of adhering to constitutional processes.
Rijiju also discussed a cricket match held between Delhi police and Members of Parliament aimed at promoting a tuberculosis-free India. He expressed excitement over the MPs’ performance in the match, highlighting the initiatives led by Prime Minister Modi, such as the ‘Khelo India’ and ‘Fit India’ movements. Now, he noted, citizens are rallying behind the campaign for a tuberculosis-free India.
Earlier, Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the TMC. He claimed that criminals and thugs dominate the state, asserting that every TMC worker is a thug. Yadav accused the TMC of seeking power through violence, intimidation, and infiltration, but vowed that the BJP would not allow this. He stated that the party is ready to make any sacrifice to combat infiltrators, terrorists, and criminals.
Just a day prior, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various development projects worth over ₹18,000 crore in Kolkata, West Bengal. Addressing the gathering, he remarked that a new chapter in the development of West Bengal and Eastern India is being written from Kolkata. During his speech, Modi also targeted the Bengal government and the TMC.
