New Flag Hoisted at Ram Temple for Hindu New Year Celebration

Ayodhya, March 20: A new flag has been hoisted at the peak of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to mark the Hindu New Year. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust announced this significant event, stating that the flag was replaced in celebration of the auspicious occasion.

On November 25, 2025, during the auspicious Abhijit Muhurat, the formal flag hoisting ceremony took place in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The ceremony was grand, featuring a religious flag that stands 10 feet tall and 20 feet long. The flag is adorned with the radiant sun, symbolizing Lord Ram’s brilliance and valor.

Additionally, the flag features the ‘Om’ symbol and the image of the Kovidar tree. This sacred flag conveys messages of dignity, unity, and cultural continuity, representing the ideals of Ram Rajya. It is to be hoisted atop the temple, designed in the traditional North Indian Nagara style, while the surrounding 800-meter-long wall showcases South Indian architectural elements, reflecting the temple’s diverse architecture.

During the flag hoisting on November 25, 2025, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath began his speech with chants of “Jai Siyaram,” “Jai Mata Janaki,” “Jai Saryu Maiya,” “Jai Bharat Mata,” and “Har Har Mahadev.” The entire temple complex resonated with these jubilant chants.

CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the flag hoisting is not merely a ritual completion but the beginning of a new era. He stated that the grand temple of Lord Ram symbolizes the faith, respect, and self-esteem of 1.4 billion Indians. He dedicated this event to the unwavering dedication and struggle of saints, warriors, and devotees of Lord Ram, who sacrificed their lives for the movement and struggle.
