
New Delhi, February 19: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with several cabinet ministers, legislators, and BJP leaders, inaugurated 25 new Atal Canteens across various constituencies in the capital on Thursday.
One of the canteens, located in the Lal Bagh area of Model Town, was formally opened by Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who also shared a meal with local residents on this occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Sirsa expressed gratitude to the people of Delhi, stating that the city is the nation’s capital. He emphasized that the public has elected a government committed to the development of Delhi and the service of those in need.
Art, Culture, and Language, Tourism and Labor Minister Kapil Mishra inaugurated another Atal Canteen at the Chauhan Patti bus terminal in the Karawal Nagar assembly constituency. The minister served meals to beneficiaries and personally assessed the food quality by dining with them.
He noted that this initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment, under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership, to ensure that no one goes hungry.
The cabinet minister announced that with the inauguration of these 25 new canteens, the total number has now reached 71.
These canteens will provide nutritious meals to the poor, laborers, and those in need for just 5 rupees.
Social Welfare Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh inaugurated an Atal Canteen in the A-block of Adarsh Nagar, Jahangirpuri. Present at the event were local MLA Rajkumar Bhatia, social workers, and a large number of residents.
During the inauguration, the minister personally served meals to elderly citizens and dined with them.
Local residents expressed their gratitude to the government, stating that these canteens will provide significant relief to workers and the underprivileged.
The minister remarked that the Atal Canteen initiative is a vital step towards providing dignified meals to the poor and needy. Access to food is a right, and every necessary measure will be taken to uplift the marginalized.
