
Ghaziabad, March 10: On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, a special event was held at the regional passport office in Ghaziabad. A new ‘Baby Care Room’ was inaugurated to assist female applicants and staff within the office premises.
This initiative aims to create a more accommodating and convenient work environment for women, allowing them to balance their professional duties with maternal responsibilities seamlessly.
Dr. Renuka Jain Gupta, the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in Ghaziabad, was the chief guest at the event. She officially opened the Baby Care Room and praised this initiative, stating that such facilities foster a positive atmosphere for women at the workplace, encouraging them to fulfill their responsibilities more effectively.
During the program, female staff members were also honored for their outstanding contributions. The chief guest congratulated the recognized employees and encouraged them to continue their dedicated work in the future.
She emphasized the crucial role of women’s participation in the progress of any institution, noting that their active involvement strengthens workplace culture. Female employees shared their experiences, highlighting the supportive environment that enables them to work with greater confidence and ease.
They expressed gratitude to the administration for the new facility. Anuj Swaroop, the Regional Passport Officer, addressed the attendees, reaffirming the commitment of the Ghaziabad passport office to provide a safe, sensitive, and supportive work environment for women, in line with the Ministry of External Affairs’ guidelines.
He mentioned that the establishment of the Baby Care Room is a significant step in this direction, benefiting both female employees and applicants. Currently, the participation of women in the office has risen to over 20% of the total workforce, a point of pride for the institution. This increasing participation is a positive indicator of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace.
