Netanyahus Bold Statement After Talks with Trump: Pressure on Iran Intensifies, Peace Process with Lebanon Continues

New Delhi, April 25: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Friday that significant steps are being taken to change the direction of the Middle East. He referenced his discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump, highlighting the increasing economic and military pressure on Iran. Additionally, he spoke about the ongoing peace process with Lebanon.

In a post on social media platform ‘X’, Netanyahu stated, “I promised you that we would change the face of the Middle East, and we are doing just that. First and foremost, I had a very productive conversation with President Trump regarding Iran. He is applying substantial economic and military pressure on Iran. We are working together in complete cooperation.”

Netanyahu further revealed, “We have initiated a historic peace process between Israel and Lebanon. It is clear to us that Hezbollah is attempting to obstruct this. We maintain the full freedom to act against any threats, including emerging ones. We attacked yesterday and we have attacked today. We are fully determined to restore the security of the residents in the northern region.”

Earlier, President Trump had announced an extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon for three weeks. He described this as a “historic” step and hinted at potential direct talks between both parties in Washington.

This decision came after a meeting in the Oval Office, attended by senior officials from both countries. Lebanon’s Ambassador to the U.S., Nada Hamadeh Mowad, and Israel’s Ambassador, Yechiel Leiter, were present at the meeting.

Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter emphasized that Israel seeks peace and the security of its citizens. Both governments are united in their desire to free the country from Hezbollah’s influence.

Lebanon’s Ambassador Nada Hamadeh Mowad welcomed U.S. support, stating, “With your help and support, we can stabilize Lebanon once again.”

Trump linked the ceasefire efforts to broader regional diplomacy, which includes U.S. initiatives related to Iran. He remarked, “The Israel-Lebanon talks should be easier compared to some of the other issues we are addressing. Both sides are united against a common threat.”
