Ranchi, July 11: A major disaster was narrowly averted in the Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. On Saturday, a significant road accident was avoided in the dangerous Chutupaloo Valley area. An LPG tanker had already been involved in a previous accident on the road. During this time, an uncontrolled trailer, due to brake failure, sped into the area and collided violently with two cars traveling on NH 33.
Witnesses reported that the gas-laden tanker had not been removed in time. They alleged that the NHAI rescue team failed to promptly clear the tanker, leaving the road hazardous. Meanwhile, the out-of-control trailer approached from behind. Had the trailer collided directly with the gas tanker, the situation could have been catastrophic.
The Swift and Creta cars were completely damaged in the collision. Fortunately, the occupants of both vehicles sustained only minor injuries and all escaped safely. After the accident, the trailer driver fled the scene. Upon receiving the report, Ramgarh police arrived and began efforts to clear the wrecked vehicles and restore normal traffic.
The police seized the trailer and are currently searching for the driver. It is noteworthy that Chutupaloo Valley has become a hotspot for accidents. Just a day earlier, a truck loaded with wood fell into a 30-foot deep gorge, seriously injuring the driver. Despite various measures, this valley remains extremely perilous for drivers.
