New Delhi, June 30: The NDA has sharply responded to AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s remarks regarding preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. NDA leaders accused Owaisi of engaging in politics of appeasement and asserted that the BJP will secure a majority in the state once again in 2027.
Owaisi stated that his party has begun preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections. He emphasized that AIMIM will nominate hardworking and honest leaders for candidacy. Additionally, he mentioned that his party is open to forming alliances to prevent the BJP from coming to power.
In response to Owaisi’s comments, Uttar Pradesh government minister Narendra Kashyap remarked, “Asaduddin Owaisi always talks about politics of appeasement. Will he ever demand an investigation into Jama Masjid? Will he discuss the need for an inquiry into any shrine or mosque? This is the religion of Sanatan Dharma and Hindus, where people face investigations and may even go to jail if necessary. Does this happen in any other religion? Owaisi’s aim is not the development of Uttar Pradesh or the country but to engage in politics of appeasement.”
BJP MP Ghulam Ali Khatana added, “Who has stopped Owaisi? No one has ever stopped him, and no one is stopping him now. The BJP has never held him back.”
Meanwhile, BJP MP Bhola Singh stated that over the past nine and a half years, the BJP’s double-engine government has consistently worked for public welfare, development, law and order, and people’s safety. This is why the people of Uttar Pradesh are satisfied with the government.
He asserted, “Whether it is Asaduddin Owaisi or anyone else, the BJP will form the government. Based on the development achieved under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the people of the state will grant the BJP a clear majority for the third consecutive time in the 2027 Assembly elections.”
Reacting to Owaisi’s comments on the Ram Temple controversy, UP government minister Sanjay Nishad quipped, “Why should Muslims be involved in this? He sarcastically suggested that a Hindu should be included in the Waqf Board.”
It is noteworthy that Owaisi had previously mocked the Ram Temple issue, suggesting that the government should have included a Muslim in the committee. He remarked that if a theft were discovered, the Muslim would be shot, and everything would end.
