Navy Commanders’ Conference Begins in Delhi Today, Focus on Combat Readiness and Joint Operations

New Delhi, October 22 (Daily Kiran): The second edition of the Indian Navy’s biannual Commanders’ Conference begins today in New Delhi and will continue till October 24. Coming soon after Operation Sindhur, the conference holds significant importance as it will focus on the Navy’s combat preparedness, joint operational capabilities, and interoperability with the Indian Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

According to Navy spokesperson Captain Vivek Madhwal, the conference will see addresses by the Defence Minister and the Cabinet Secretary, who are expected to highlight issues of national interest and the vision for Viksit Bharat 2047. The three-day event provides a platform for close interaction between national leadership, senior bureaucrats, and the naval top brass to strengthen India’s maritime strategy amid evolving geopolitical challenges.

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Chief of Air Staff (CAS) will also address the conference, engaging in high-level discussions with the Navy’s senior leadership. The focus will be on optimizing resources, improving coordination, and enhancing joint planning and execution of military operations.

Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi will review and assess operational plans related to the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) with Commanders-in-Chief. The discussions will also cover operational readiness, training, resource availability, and future roadmaps aimed at strengthening India’s maritime posture.

Key topics include the adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and machine learning for improving warfare capabilities and ensuring seamless operations in secure digital environments.

The conference will also evaluate operational preparedness along both western and eastern seaboards, focusing on indigenous development under the ‘Make in India’ initiative and promoting innovation in naval systems.

Furthermore, the Navy will reaffirm its commitment to the government’s ‘SAGAR’ (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision, aiming to enhance India’s role as the preferred security partner in the Indian Ocean Region and the Indo-Pacific.
