Nandani Sharma Matches Deepti Sharma with Hat-trick in Women’s Premier League

New Delhi witnessed an exciting contest in the Women’s Premier League 2026 as Delhi Capitals faced Gujarat Giants at Navi Mumbai on Sunday. Despite Delhi Capitals losing the match, their bowler Nandani Sharma grabbed the spotlight with an outstanding bowling performance, taking five wickets including a hat-trick.

Nandani Sharma, born on 20 September 2001 in Chandigarh, is a right-arm fast bowler who was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 20 lakh in the auction. She has justified the team’s faith with her impressive displays.

In the match against Gujarat Giants, while other bowlers struggled, Nandani troubled the strong Gujarat batting line-up effectively. She bowled four overs, conceding 33 runs and claiming five crucial wickets.

Her first wicket came by dismissing Sophie Devine, who was batting on 95 runs. This was a significant blow to Gujarat’s innings. The most dramatic moment arrived in the final over of Gujarat’s innings when Nandani took four wickets, including a memorable hat-trick.

The hat-trick began with Kanika Ahuja being stumped as she attempted an aggressive shot. Next ball, Rajeshwari Gayakwad was clean bowled, followed by Renuka Thakur’s stumps being uprooted on the last ball of the over. This remarkable feat made Nandani only the second Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in the Women’s Premier League, joining Deepti Sharma. The other two players with this record are Issy Wong from England and Grace Harris from Australia.

If Nandani Sharma maintains this level of performance, she is likely to earn a place in the Indian women’s cricket team soon.
