Mumbai, April 6: Popular actor Namish Taneja will star in the upcoming web series “Mangal Mukhi.” This series is a crime drama based on the lives and daily struggles of the transgender community.
This marks Taneja’s first collaboration with a transgender actor. He will be joined by Ella D’Verma in a leading role. Sharing his experience, Namish described it as a new and memorable journey.
He stated, “This is the first time I have been part of such a story. It’s also the first time I have worked with a transgender actor.”
Namish further added, “Honestly, this experience has been very comfortable and enlightening. I had seen Ella as an influencer on Instagram before, but working with her revealed how talented she truly is. She brings depth and authenticity to her role.”
Discussing the show, Namish highlighted that “Mangal Mukhi” normalizes issues that should always be considered normal. He remarked, “Talent, emotions, and human connections go beyond gender. Being part of this series has been very special for me.”
“Mangal Mukhi” will be available on Hungama OTT. Namish Taneja plays a significant role alongside Ella D’Verma and Rati Pandey. The story revolves around identity, courage, and the quest for justice, set against the contrasting backdrops of Varanasi and Mumbai.
The series centers on a transgender police officer from Uttar Pradesh, who has faced ridicule from her colleagues and neglect from her superiors for a long time.
