Born on April 11, 1984, in Jamshedpur, Shilpa Rao’s real name is Apeksha Rao. She hails from a Telugu-speaking family. Growing up in a musically inclined household, her father, S. Venkata Rao, provided her with early music education. Shilpa developed a passion for singing at a young age and was part of the school choir. She also received training in Ghazal singing.
